Smorkle: Rode the scoot to work this morning with no issues. Rode home this afternoon and the temp had risen from 67 in the morning to 92 in the afternoon. Got about a half mile from the house and the bead separated off the rear rim. May 14, 2013 19:55:38 GMT -6

Smorkle: Walked home and got the wife and trailer. We loaded it up and took it home. Tried to put the tire back on but the bead was messed up but got it aired up enough to roll it off the trailer and put it back in the garage. May 14, 2013 19:57:52 GMT -6 *

Smorkle: Almost into the garage the bead separated again so on it's center stand it sits until I get a new tire. May 14, 2013 20:06:27 GMT -6

Tressa: Glad the sudden flat didn't cause any injuries (at least none you mentioned). Any idea what caused the separation? Defective tire or wheel? May 14, 2013 20:46:01 GMT -6

Smorkle: My best guess is that the 35° change in temperature yesterday heated the air too rapidly in the tire and it might have been slightly over inflated. No injuries. I never lost control. May 15, 2013 16:19:08 GMT -6
